Sad but true. Hillary seems the least bad viable option but I can't say I support her. I just don't like the whole political dynasty thing; it stinks of third world banana Republics.

Our political system is sick and getting worse. There is so much patronage, so many insider deals, so much influence bought by the billionaire class with their campaign contributions that anyone not in the elite are locked out. Only people with connections can realistically run for office. Our democracy is not as robust and healthy as it used to be. We need viable third party options and an end to the corruption of big money.

Since this thread was supposed to be about Trump I thought I would leave this here. It is something I wrote about him and his supporters on another site.

A lot of blue collar whites seem to be angry at the political establishment for not addressing their concerns. I know a fellow who works as a contractor and he seems to blame every negative thing in his life on illegals. He goes too far but he makes a good point that his job used to pay much better, that it is hard to pay business taxes, worker's comp insurance, employee taxes which the employer is expected to pay, your license and bond costs, etc... When the competition is illegal, unlicensed, paying fellow illegals less than minimum wage under the table in cash so that they can all still get welfare for their four or five kids. No taxes are ever paid as no income is declared. It is all under the table.

These blue collar types feel they are being honest, doing what they are supposed to do to follow the law, and working their butt off yet their standard of living keeps going down year after year.

That is the frustration Trump has tapped into and neither of the two parties ever seemed to listen to these people's wants or needs thus why they latch on to the first person who does bring up the topic.
