Though, they didn't even when they were created and supplied by the USA. We have left Afghanistan leaving a stable socialist government there, which on their own controlled the territory for three years, until the traitor Gorbachev has cancelled any military assistance to the government of Najibula. And only after that your still well-supplied pet beast the Taliban have turned the country into complete bloodbath. How well did you do after that there? Have you defeated your monster? Even considering that it wasn't supplied by another super-power this time?

    ****-suckers.

If it was a stable socialist government then why did it need to be propped up by the Soviets?

yes, the occupation has lasted for nearly 50 years and palestinian rights have in fact been reduced during that time and more of their land has been stolen. the similarity with apartheid, though, is having a dominant group that imposes physical and legal separation upon an 'inferior' group and subjects them to diverse disadvantages and detriments, some of which i have mentioned.

Didn't the US impose physical and legal separation on the Iraq people Afghanistan people. If you define things that way your statement about apartheid loses meaning.

Jon, yes, we did. If we did not the sectarian groups would have kept killing each other.

Duration does have some relevance, for example if you've declared martial law for a week then you might be a democracy in a state of emergency, but if you've declared martial law for a decade then chances are that you're a police state. If the US were still occupying Afghanistan or Iraq and treating its (former) citizens as second class citizens with no apparent plan to ever end the state of occupation then I'd call it a form of apartheid.

I feel sorry for planet Earth, having to endure humanity's stain. Poor thing. I think what she needs is a nice, one-two combo to wipe out the infestation. Hmm. Let's see ... oh, yes! A dinosaur-type asteroid slamming into the world, along with some extensive volcanism should do the the job nicely.

Sure, it'll take Earth 10 to 20 million years to fully recover, but, hey, at least humans won't be around anymore! Knowing Earth, though, she'll get stuck with whatever evolves next into a bipedal monstrosity.

                  ;-)

i think that civilian contractors should have been subject to iraqi law, but there are some very clear and obvious differences between iraq/afghanistan and israel/palestine. i have provided several examples of apartheid measures; you're welcome to address them.

No, you'll end up with the very worst of humanity surviving. The one percenters who can afford to tough it out by any means necessary - the very definition of radiation resistant cockroaches - basically the ones who are currently feeding off humanity like parasites...

Don't worry, JM had a rant on my facebook page about how being worried about climate change was, in effect, racism against Africans...
