If it is the woman who was refusing to do her job despite an order from the supreme court then she deserved it. Either do your job, the whole job, including the parts you don't like or find yourself a different job. What you cannot do is use the powers of your public office to deny equal access/protection to members of the public simply because you do not like them. Her job is to issue legal certificates to all members of the public who meet the legal requirements. Period. End of story.

Religion plays no part in it. The Supreme Court has ruled, she had her day in court, now she obeys or rightly gets her a$$ thrown in prison.

Here in California it is a legal requirement that pharmacists stock the drug in question and that they sell it to anyone who has a valid docotor's prescription along with means to pay for it.
