So, really the headlines should read:

Lucky Americans copying heroic Frenchman outnumber and take down terrorist armed with a knife
    Still very heroic!

If they didn't do anything he would probably either take them hostages or just start shooting.
So a frenchman tried to stop him outside the bathroom but he got shot.
Then skarlatos woke up and shouted get him to his friends.
Then stone charged him with skarlatos behind because the aisle would fit just one man.
Then the gunman tried shooting at stone and skarlatos, and that's the key point, his guns blocked.
So they fought him down with the help of spencer and norman.

The key thing was that his gun blocked or both stone and skarlatos would die but at the same time if passengers near by mobilized they could take him down in the uproar.

"Foolhardly" and very heroic. Often those two are entagled.

Does this mean that the UK basically has the best firefighters in the world? I'm too lazy to know for certain, but they certainly seem to be massively better than American firefighters.

Also, I remember that this was in the news from last week: Three Firefighters Killed in Washington Blaze Identified

Virtually every time there's major fires in the US you hear of US firefighters dying - it has occurred to me in the past that it seems like a curiously American thing...

I remember this story too: Loss of 19 firefighters in Arizona blaze 'unbearable,' governor says

As well as being incredibly sad, it does seem unbelievably careless...

Wildfires Have Killed 1,086 Firefighters in U.S. Since 1911

              That's averaging 10 a year - for a century!

              And that's only 'Wildfires'!

Something is definitely wrong and something should be done to help protect the lives of American firefighters better?

                The British have wisely decided to have fewer wildfires :b;

                          • We also have a lot of brick buildings compared to the US and Scandinavia. Maybe that helps?
