Have I once supported their misconduct. Of course not.

Sometimes it's justified. Not all cops are slime. Painting them all that way is a gross injustice.

No one here has said that there were no bad cops.

so forgive me if I proceed to not give a flying **** about how those poor police officers work such a dangerous job

they chose that career

and it isn't even that dangerous

stop acting as an apologist for the misconduct of the offender(s) in question

Maybe if US cops shot up cars at a similar rate to unarmed blacks trying to run away, less would die from traffic accidents?

Contrary to popular belief, the wild west was far safer than today, if we're going by per-capita gun deaths. Also the US just hit a fresh 60 year low for that. It hasn't been this low since the 50s.

Being a cop in the US is a very dangerous business as everyone with even a small amount of cash can get a gun. Rightly or wrongly this leads many cops to have a when in doubt shoot and ask questions later frame of mind. I imagine this comes from seeing so many friends and coworkers killed in the line of duty.

It is import to strike a balance and cops certainly can go over the line but at the same time many of these cases use hind sight and information not available to law enforcement at the time. When there is a case I usually give ties to the cop's unless there is compelling evidence of wrong doing.

That data is rather cherry picked Sava; but I'll play along anyway: Most police traffic deaths are being struck while out of their squads conducting traffic stops.

no sympathy here for a stupid lady who mouthed off to a cop. from what I've seen on a lot of videos is some young person (black or white) thinking they don't have to listen to the cop - because they are black or white. ok, don't listen... good luck with that.

Sandra Bland – who was vocal on the issue of police encounters with African Americans in the months leading up to her death in a jail cell in Texas -- had at least 10 encounters herself with police in both Illinois and Texas in past years.
And NBC5 Investigates has found that – at the time of her death last Friday -- she still owed a total of $7,579.00 in court fines resulting from five traffic stops in various Chicago suburbs (including a DUI), and she had been cited several times for her failure to pay those fines.

who said is was murder - medical examiner said suicide. the FAMILY and LAWYER are saying murder. of course the family and lawyer are also saying what a model person she was. could do no wrong. was always kind and nice.

I find it hard to believe all these people being killed are the cream of the crop. wow. who would have guessed
