I think they were old chemical weapons from the Iran-Iraq war, but I could be misremembering things.

So you think Hussein posed a threat to anyone outside his own country?

We won the war on drugs, so I don't see what everybody is upset about

He did the first time we kicked his **** in, during Gulf War I. I think if we'd been right about the more serious WMDs the Iraq War would have been a good idea. Since we were wrong, it was a bad idea. One of the consequences is that we haven't done what we need to do to keep Iran and North Korea from getting nukes, because we learned the wrong lesson from Iraq.

Yes, but that's beside the point. This thread is about winning wars, not refraining from fighting them. Obama doesn't give two ****s about America.

We also won the war against the moon. If you count the moon's surface area then America is actually the third largest nation in the solar system, after Russia and the various secret Nazi bases scattered around the solar system. And needless to say, Obama would have surrendered to the moon due to his being a Muslim etc.

the UN weapons inspectors destroyed virtually everything during the 90s

we knew what he had, he was buying the stuff from the west for the war with Iran

You think we knew so much? We obviously didn't know. Do you think it was a conspiracy to invade Iraq?

yes, we did know... the west was supplying him the makings for those weapons so the UN inspectors knew what they were looking for.
Thats why Hans Blix and Scott Ritter were making a fuss demanding the Bu****s support their claims of WMD in the run up to the 2nd war.

They knew what he got from the West. That doesn't mean they knew about everything he had. You're suggesting there was a conspiracy to mislead the public. You need to support that accusation. If there were a conspiracy many would have been involved. There's a much more reasonable idea, they managed to destroy or hide the weapons.

Yes I think there was a conspiracy to manufacture a reason to invade Iraq, just as there was the first Gulf War. The US and others have always had a vested interest in keeping the region destabilised and their rulers beholden to them.

Ask yourself this: What threat did Saddam Hussein pose? What did America/the West gain from toppling him?
