Have you watched the demo? You now have a Bioware-ish ring of replies condensed into short phrases instead of a list. And skills are gone. Something more like the system of Skyrim will be in place, since crafting gave you XP and some recipes required perk ranks, not skill levels.

Skills aren't necessarily gone. We just didn't see anything about them. It's certainly possible.

Hmm, it does look like skills are gone... The STAT screen in the pipboy lists Status, SPECIAL and Perks...

Yes, and when they showed us the SPECIAL points assignment screen, it didn't show which skills were influenced by which stat.
