I know what I'm doing this Christmas... They waited for all the LOTRs and Hobbits' to clear to not battle them. Wise decision.

          Meh.

Carrie Fisher is like the series itself. Peaked at Empire. It was a nice outfit for sure, but totally unnecessary. It also doesn't redeem RotJ.

While I'm on the subject, let me tell you what also sucks about Star Wars:
          (In no particular order)

          Ewoks

          Jar jar

          Anakin Skywalker

Dagobah (and in general, single biome planets)

Palpatine's convoluted scheme to go from Chancellor to Emperor.

          The Jedi council.

          The acting in the prequels.

          Prequels.

Liam Neeson doesn't go kill the Sith for kidnapping his daughter.

Natalie Portman isn't one of my girlfriends.

          "Youngling"

The title says "star wars", yet there is only one actual war.

A galaxy full of billions... perhaps trillions... and it seems only clones, jedi, and droids are fighting the "wars". Does anyone else in that galaxy care? Talk about a lack of political awareness on the part of the populace.

          What else?

          Midichlorians or whatever
To us, it is the BEAST.

They've got the solemn choral music going in the background, OOOOH, and it doesn't matter when the hero of the trilogy is making it abundantly clear that he was trained to fight by an actual muppet.
Fight choreography has never been a strong point of the series.

I wouldn't go that far, but his Star Trek was at least better than the prequels. The first one, that is; I didn't see Into Darkness.
I didn't like the new ST much the first time I watched them but once I started viewing them as SW rather than ST they became a lot more enjoyable. Different expectations.

"Star Battles" would have been too much like that other one.

A few minutes of T&A (even T&A as fine as Carrie Fisher's) does not justify the awfulness of the rest of the movie.

If you don't like the original trilogy you are a deficient human being.

I'd say the turning point was crying about the many Botha (or however you spell'em) Spies who died to bring the info that the Emperor was going to be at the New Death Star at the time of the attack.

                        Positives of RotJ:

                        Luke is a badass.

Greater diversity in fighters... e.g. A-wing, B-wing, tie interceptor

                        Good space combat.

                        Leia in the outfit.

                        The Executor's death.

Wasn't sure which thread to put this in. I guess this one.

ROTJ is good, the ewoks were the only weird/stupid part.

The Ewok uprising made one wonder why Stormtroopers wear their armor at all.
After all it didn´t even protect them from the arrows shot by the Ewok archers or the stones hurled by the Ewok slingers
(which makes you suspect that the protection value of stormtrooper armor must be close to zero ... only protecting them from things like sunburns (when combing a desert for fugitive droids) and maybe from punches in a canteen brawl)
