That's the point. Real tanks can, you know, "tank" ATGM hits. NATO tanks can't.

Even the most modern MBTs (includng yours) are vulnerable to ATGMs .. it just depends on the right can opener ... like Tandem Warheads, Top Down attacks and so on
Guess this also will go for Armata ... although, of course, this design still will have to be tested on the battlefield

What exactly makes 2A6 or 2A7 less vulnerable to ATGMs? It doesn't have reactive armor or countermeasures.

Slightly better generic armor may or may not help against ancient RPGs like RPG-7 but it won't help against much heavier ATGM warheads.

The armor protection is vstly better.
Yes, no reactive armor or active countermeasures ... but spaced armor.

The 2A7 has spaced armor, so it may be much more resilient aganst attacks from the front (also against HEAT), especially as it also provides the tank with much more oblique surfaces (of course not so much from the side or back, but that's what I mean about tactical failures ... all tanks are vulnerable from the side or back) (of course, it also is vulnerable to top-down attacks ... but this also is a vunerability that it shares with othr tanks)
