Nice piece about how the Greeks need to stop whinging and pretending they are victims."The Christian way has not been tried and found wanting, it has been found to be hard and left untried" - GK Chesterton.

it's been a while i've read since such a lightweight and superficial analysis of the greek situation and that's really saying something. it's no wonder that dinner lapped it up."The Christian way has not been tried and found wanting, it has been found to be hard and left untried" - GK Chesterton.

Lithuania, Slovakia and Slovenia have tried to get the EU to face facts. They urge the EU to prepare plans for a Greek exit. Greeks now give Euclid a turn. Perhaps Varoufakis has pissed off too many people.Last edited by pchang; April 27, 2015, 10:51.“It is no use trying to 'see through' first principles. Basically what they are saying is that Syriza is doing more austerity than before. They give one talk to the masses but what they actually do is a continuation of the previous policies.
That's not true.
Under the previous gov, taxes would have increased (they are scrapped), salaries fallen further, there are plans for increasing, first domicile would be confiscated, it is totally protected etc etc
Of course, the "EU" might not like it, it will be destroyed then.

What is the difference between increasing taxes but not collecting them vs. not increasing taxes?
What is the difference between protecting home ownership vs. never seizing them in the first place?
Let me know when salaries are actually increased.“It is no use trying to 'see through' first principles. If you see through everything, then everything is transparent. But a wholly transparent world is an invisible world. To 'see through' all things is the same as not to see.”
