  • Plus Greece in the '90s wasn't ****ed.
I remember I got out with 270.000 drachmas in my pocker from my first job and went out on a saturday with 10.000 drachmas and I was god, spending, having a good time and still went home with a taxi.

    • So you agree with Putin's annexation of Crimea and his war of aggression against Ukraine?

Are you that blinded by your hatred of the EU and the Germans that you're happy to be such a total hypocrite...?

So it is all about greed and selfishness with you...?

Proof that you don't care about anyone else's misfortunes as long as you can afford to have a good time!

        • I don't hate the EU and I don't hate germans. Greece's political elite is as much to blame as anyone.
          It's just not working bro

About Putin etc :shrugs: Hope there's a peaceful resolution with the west.

Are you that manichaistic that you see things in black and white?

I merely say that Greece returning to the drachma makes sense, the way things are evolving.
That SOME greeks spent like there was no tommorrow, doesn't interest me.
That the whole country would continue to suffer is unacceptable.

            • No, but you seem to be...

Greece is acting like some kind of jilted lover that spreads its legs for that person's best friend. Where is the dignity in that...!?

What Greece should do, is do an Iceland, and then start holding all it's own politicians etc who got it into this mess in the first place accountable - again like Iceland.

Tell me, paiktis, have you ever avoided paying taxes like so many other Greeks because you could get away with it?

If the answer is yes, then you are also part of this mess...

              • One's prime interests are all that matters.
If one has a choice to feed his kids or pay taxes, then **** taxes and b!tch slap the tax man that comes to claim it.
                Simple.

tax avoidance is a non issue. Greece went under because the EU's model was irrational and in part because of major bribery cases, most of which involve german firms.

We should do an iceland but Greece is not in the middle of nowhere. Other factors should be balanced too.

                • Good to see you're finally coming clean: **** everyone else!

Frankly you and Greece in general deserve the predicament you are in.

                    • Yeah, just as long as someone else gets shafted even if they don't deserve it, who cares, right?

That's basically where you lost any shred of my sympathy...

                      • Oh they deserve it

BTW I don't see where your holier than thou attitude comes from.

                        • Who deserves it? The people of eastern Ukraine under the jackboot of your new best buddy?

Because you're a symptom of Greece's greater problem. Part of Greece's myriad problems is people getting away without paying taxes - any anger you have is pure hypocrisy now.

                          • And who is supporting that aggression? Definitely not me.

Part of the problem with Greece was and is a lack of justice, not a lack of tax consciousness.
That has little to do with the EU's ****ed up system though.
Eschatologically the end result would have been the same.

About the bribes, sure, they involved in large part german firms.
What's funny is that the last gov and germany's current one had no problem keeping the whole thing under the carpet.
