Our choices are: (a) harm a small number of children for the greater good or (b) harm a large number of children for no benefit. I admit, that's a toughie.Click here if you're having trouble sleeping.

Who said he was anti-vax?Originally posted by Berzerker View PostIt is a parent's choice, that doesn't make him anti-vax. He went on to say his children received multiple vaccinations staggered over time.“As a lifelong member of the Columbia Business School community, I adhere to the principles of truth, integrity, and respect. I will not lie, cheat, steal, or tolerate those who do.”

The misuse may expedite the process but we could be "evolving" ourselves into extinction by engaging in an arms race with natureOriginally posted by DaShi View Post1. Your imagination is just that.
2. Anti-biotics are progress. They have and continue to save millions of lives. However, misuse of them (blame unregulated industry as a major culprit) has been creating superbugs.

Nothing you are saying here makes sense. I suggest you do some research and then return to the discussion.Originally posted by Berzerker View PostThe misuse may expedite the process but we could be "evolving" ourselves into extinction by engaging in an arms race with nature“As a lifelong member of the Columbia Business School community, I adhere to the principles of truth, integrity, and respect. Vaccination is completely different from antibiotics.“It is no use trying to 'see through' first principles. If you see through everything, then everything is transparent. But a wholly transparent world is an invisible world. To 'see through' all things is the same as not to see.”

MSNBC, Howard Dean...and you accused Repubs of being anti-vax in this threadOriginally posted by DaShi View PostWho said he was anti-vax?
You understand that anti-biotics can create superbugs but vaccines have no consequences?Originally posted by DaShi View PostNothing you are saying here makes sense. I suggest you do some research and then return to the discussion.

You brought up Howard Dean. No one else has even mentioned him. As for republicans being anti-vax: 1. I was making fun of their strict anti-Obama stances; 2. Rand Paul follows his own beliefs and is barely considered a republican by his own party. I never brought up Rand Paul until you did for some reason.Originally posted by Berzerker View PostMSNBC, Howard Dean...and you accused Repubs of being anti-vax in this thread
Where are you getting this from? You understand that anti-biotics can create superbugs but vaccines have no consequences?
Since you seem to believe that vaccines have terrible consequences, does it bother you that you also believe that Rand Paul endorses them? Do you support politicians who want to harm children?“As a lifelong member of the Columbia Business School community, I adhere to the principles of truth, integrity, and respect. I will not lie, cheat, steal, or tolerate those who do.”

Serious question because I rarely notice Berz's existence: Is he actually retarded or is this just an act?“As a lifelong member of the Columbia Business School community, I adhere to the principles of truth, integrity, and respect. I will not lie, cheat, steal, or tolerate those who do.”

Yeah, I brought him up, so what? The media is painting him as anti-vax and they're full of BS. I didn't say you or anyone else mentioned Dean. You asked a question and I answered it. I dont care why you said Repubs are anti-vax, you did. And you followed that with an article quoting Obama's concern about autism and vaccinations while suggesting more research was needed.Originally posted by DaShi View PostYou brought up Howard Dean. I didn't say vaccinations have terrible consequences (other than the people harmed by them), I said even if I considered them progress I couldn't prove they're an overall good and I explained why.Since you seem to believe that vaccines have terrible consequences, does it bother you that you also believe that Rand Paul endorses them? It's happening. It's coming true. Republicans are starting to embrace the anti-vax narrative.
To us, it is the BEAST.

Yes, it's such a goddamn shame that our terrible horrible medicine prevents unfit people from being killed off by the beautiful delicate balance of nature.Originally posted by Berzerker View PostWe and bugs evolved together, medicine produces people who would have died off because of bugs and bugs that are tougher to defeat.

Where'd they say vaccinations wont lead to weaker immune systems or stronger bugs?Originally posted by Sava View PostThat's okay. People much more qualified than you to speak on the subject already have.
