So, uh, what do you do when it's so cold your car won't start?

In all seriousness, I'd have the battery checked out at the first opportunity. Might be getting old.

I don't live in a cold enough climate that it affects car batteries, but isn't the problem that, basically, that the chemical reaction that provides electricity inside the battery just doesn't proceed at a high enough rate? Or is it something else entirely?

I think it's tiny invisible corporate malevolent fairies that intentionally piggypag electricity out of the battery in order to make you buy a new one.

Also, it's a good idea, if Lori doesn't drive very often, to simply plug off the battery untill he uses the car again. (negative pole, being careful not to have it touch anything)

Seriously though, I think it's what you say. That's why there are functioning temperature rates labels on the bateries. And you buy one according to what the weather conditions are where you live.
Something about the batery having the power to make that initial chemical reaction.

Tow truck guy managed to jump start the car, so I'm just going to treat this problem like I do all my others: by ignoring it.

It will react like all problems do in this situation: it will come back.

Well, he mentioned it was becasue of the cold, not because he didn't use the car in a long time, so I'm guessing it's not battery drain?

                  lol, massive x-post.

In any case, next time you can remove the battery, take it inside, and then put it back into the car when it reaches room temperature.

My car had to turn over like 6 or 7 times before starting today. It's so ****ing cold right now. I am dreading returning to Pittsburgh.
