The level of discourse here is actually more juvenile and ignorant than reddit. Gone are people like Adam Smith that could teach everybody a few things, replaced with ignorant brats with chips on their shoulders.

A shame.

I learned a lot from Apolyton over the years, both academically and personally. I learned a lot about how to debate with people, which I use daily to great success. Maybe I've just outgrown it, or maybe it's just gone down hill. But I don't see the point to it anymore.

15 years is a helluva long time to be posting at the same forum - I'm glad the archives + search function are ****ty so that most of what I posted has been mercifully lost forever.

Regardless of what you think about smartboards, claiming THAT thread was the reason Asher left the site is ridiculous. He was posting frequently up until February of this year. That thread was in October of 2013. Basically, get over yourselves.

I think the real reason Asher left is because he was eaten by a polar bear. He lived in Canada, which everyone knows is an icy polar wasteland, so it makes sense.

Edit: He came back and even mnetioned he was hanging out with polar bears! It is clear he simply must have been eaten by a polar bear by now.
