  • France and Germany want their cut of UK drug and pimp money

Tories and Ukip condemn Brussels demand after EU statistics agency exposes major discrepancy in contribution calculations

Britain has been told it must pay an extra €2.1bn (£1.7bn) into the European Union budget by the end of next month because the UK economy is doing better relative to other European economies

    ...

Eurostat arrived at the €2.1bn figure on the basis of new methods of calculating member states’ GNI since 1995, taking account of previously unreported or under-reported black economy elements, such as drug dealing and consumption or the sex industry.

France and Germany are due a rebate of €1bn and €780m respectively. Recalculating dues since 1995 and then demanding payment within a month? It's as if those in the EU proposing this want UKIP and other separatist elements to get a massive fillip.
One day Canada will rule the world, and then we'll all be sorry.

all I can say is that the EU isn't working.
The only benefit for greece is a low inflation and a certain "western" path that has been given but seeing the overall cituation in europe, it is demoralizing.
then you have corrupt politians and a rigid system.
maybe because it is raining, maybe because i went to the doctor after a long time and i only now realize that the free health care system is no longer free. i had to pay for the visit whereas i was supposed to be completely covered.

i'm sick and tired of this incapacity of greek polititians to do right by the people, the one for himself mentality, the way centralization of power in the EU is starting to get gargantuan proportions.
it's just getting too tiresome to live like this and to see opportunity being squandered off at every turn so that few imbeciles can keep their privileges.

Farage meanwhile has fired his first of presumably many salvoes.

Ukip leader Nigel Farage said: 'David Cameron once claimed that he had reduced the EU budget – but the UK contribution went up. Now, quite incredibly, our contribution goes up a second time. It's outrageous.

'The EU is like a thirsty vampire feasting on UK taxpayers' blood. We need to protect the innocent victims, who are us.'
That last sentence amuses me greatly.
