There is a big problem with illegal Mexican foremen, employed illegal by agricultural companies, taking advantage of poor women mostly from Mexico. Many of them have spent their life's savings just to get here illegally and so they're desperate for a job and then the Mexican illegal men who got their first and who are in a position to say who gets hired or not demand sex in exchange for for letting the women work. Of course, none of this would happen if they weren't all criminal illegal aliens but the agricultural companies must take part of the blame because they're looking the other way. If we're really honest then these companies should all have all of their assets seized and the shareholders imprisoned simply because they're knowingly hiring illegals. That won't happen though because America's political system is highly corrupt and people with money literally write the laws for their exclusive benefit.Try http://wordforge.net/index.php for discussion and debate.

Perhaps the solution is to grant them citizenship let them vote and deport Dinner to Mexico.Scouse Git (2) La Fayette Adam Smith Solomwi and Loinburger will not be forgotten.

You really need a good positive reason to have a rule before you put it in place. Unfortunately, too many people think like sava and say "well it causes no harm!" It does cause harm. It causes harm simply by existing in the books. For some rules, the harm is worth it. For most, it isn't. This is why people who say "We need more regulation!" are out of their minds--"more" regulation is meaningless. You need good regulation, not more.

I'd actually rather they restrict medicine to people who have actually successfully studied medicine, regardless of their nationality.

FTR: This would appear to be an example of a real War on Women (tm) being waged in a western country, ken. It even had the tacit support of the State who ignored evidence of the war (tm) going on in their own country: Rotherham: politics ‘imported from Pakistan’ fuelled sex abuse cover-up – MPI make no bones about my moral support for [terrorist] organizations. - chegitz guevara

Seems bad to me, but I guess if you're used to colonialism I can see why you favor this.Scouse Git (2) La Fayette Adam Smith Solomwi and Loinburger will not be forgotten.

In any case, as long as the certification is valid, what does the legal residence status of the person affect his qualifications in the relevant fields? I'd rather be operated upon a licensed MD that entered the country illegally than by a legal resident that doen't know anything about medicine.

2) You need more than having passed the bar to be a judge here. Like having political friends.

So does abolishing labour unions

If he has the proper qualifications, I don't see how having taken an exam that measures memorization skills would affect this. After all, there's millions of people who have passed the bar who I wouldn't want to have as a judge either.Scouse Git (2) La Fayette Adam Smith Solomwi and Loinburger will not be forgotten.

You mentioned that allowing for immigrants with certifications being allowed to practise in the US would reduce the value of people with such certifications. This means that, by forbidding foreign certified people from practidsing, local certified people are inflating their wages. Not unlike labor unions.
In fact, such high wages very probably come hand-in-hand with high certification costs (or education); having people with such high-value education come into the country is a benefit.
