I've been experimenting with one way roads for parts of my city, after watching a little of the first video linked to here. It paid off well! Now I just have to find out how to reorganize my city for the bigger roads I'm using as main road, and to replace the smaller roads with small one way roads... Also I need to plan well for the flow of the traffic on these roads, so I don't just create a new mess elsewhere...

Well, looks to me like 2 one way roads, the one (surounding Block B pointing clockwise, the other (surounding Block D) counter clockwise ... and in the middle between those blocks and the lower 2 another one way road ... with 4 lanes.

I guess you can build something similar to this, although you would have to use a 6 lane one way road for the middle (because the 4 lane roads aren´t available as one way roads)

So what do you do when you get access to high density plots? Do you bulldoze the old or just make them a suburb to a new central area.

I just let it remain as a low density residential + commercial and put my high density plots somewhere else.
I also occasionally zone new regions as low density, even if I already have high density plots available

I'm using the terraform mod to divert the flow of the rivers on "Islands". I've reclaimed the area in the upper right. Expanding as we speak. This is about 68k pop. Going to see how much I can get in this map, all 25 tiles.
