There were some positive results I think.
First, the euroscepticism will force some change.
For Greece the win of the radical left is heaven sent.
It will force a change of austerity (paneuropean level) or have a very hard cookie to crack.

I guess you are one of the unelected European elite

Europe is probably the best off in the world simply because of the push for renewable use. If there's ever a major disruption in oil supply, the US is screwed. By the third day, people would be eating each other.
To us, it is the BEAST.

No. The Monterrey Shale is still mostly locked up with current technology. However, once we actually install all the Chinese solar panels they have been selling us at below cost......

No. We will have more electricity and plenty of shade to stand under as we try to keep cool thanks to Global Warming.

                        come back here little siddiquiqui!

renewables are unreliable as a true alternative to fossil fuel or nuclear. they can add to the energy mix but that's it. that's why most of europe is leaning towards low carbon emmission economy.

US won't achieve energy independence untill far in the 2020's and it will finally butt out of the middle east (bye bye israel)

france is the biggest proponent of nuclear it will sell even to your dog.
germany will faze out nuclear as a national policy
greece superovercompensated with solar panels through assisted loan guarantees and then broke its word to producers about guaranteed price return in order to stop the expansion.
there are many plans concerning renewables but one thing sticks out: according to today's technology they aren't reliable as a wholesome alternative to fosil fuel.

                            It's not about ethnic purity.

France has massive unemployment and more than a million illegals. The French voted no against the European constitution and EU-building kept going on. The EU is a scam and both the PS and UMP have failed to do anything of significance to halt unemployment.

and also 96% less than previous estimates

Federal energy authorities have slashed by 96% the estimated amount of recoverable oil buried in California's vast Monterey Shale deposits, deflating its potential as a national "black gold mine" of petroleum.
