          We were so close to wiping out Polio, down to fewer than 100 cases / year. To be fair the jihad against vaccine workers didn't start just in Pakistan, it's also been a problem in Somalia and Nigeria. Recently vaccine workers have been attacked not just in those countries, but also in neighboring countries - Chad, Cameroon, CAR, Ethiopia, Kenya, Sudan, Afghanistan. It may not all be stemming from the CIA's use of the doctor in Pakistan, it may reflect the general rise in reactionary Islamic extremism.
