If you don't like that the grass is green, then you're complaining. And as I said earlier, I'm even on your side in this. I don't like Poly's uncivil attitude. That's why I tried to change it as a moderator. I am not telling you that the grass is blue instead of green; I'm telling you that the way to make it blue is by genetically engineering it to be blue, not by yelling at it to be so. If they're serious about it, yes. If a troll trolls and nothing happens, then we'll know more. Problem is, its years too late. People have changed, many have left because of it. Zkrib described to me his old friends had become like zombies, all changed and disrespectful, so he joined us at WPC, which is also disrespected. Disrespect, disrespect, disrespect. Its true. Tuberski whom I always got along with posted how I could find a 14 year old for BU who apparently wants one. Why? Is that disrespect a goal that reasonable people here suddenly aspired to? Have all bonds of civilization been laid aside for the sake of whatever trolls get from insulting others? Tuberski is a family man, I met his wife once, very nice woman. What happened?

People would have to reexamine who they are and what they've become in order for the "Gruff" forum to work. To me its a forum where hopefully respect will flourish once again, where gruff replies will be few, but we'll see.

First it requires someone have the balls to make a post, to break the mold, to dezombify.

If you adopt an 'I'll support my mods' attitude no matter what, you might get a surprise, as Markos did. After he gave up being an admin he was enjoying and participating in a thread I had, some sort of competition, don't recall. Ming deleted the thread, another arbitrary deletion, Markos asked why and got no reply. Which gave me one huge chance to tell Markos "SEE" about all the crap I'd been PM ing him about for y e a r s. He always went with the mod, never looked into it, never did "see" until the end.

Again... simply more made up revisionist history. If you are going to attack me, at least point at some of the mistakes I actually made. God knows I made some mistakes, we all did back then. Nobody is perfect.

Okay, I've made my argument. You're too stubborn to consider it, even though I'm one of the only posters here who essentially agrees with you about Poly OT being an ugly place. Now I'm done. I'm going to be the better poster and not harp on this. I'm over in the CivBE forum trying to drum up enthusiasm for the new game so that Poly can be a place for discussion once again. I suggest you also try to do something for the site rather than simply telling us all about how it used to be better in the old days. Bye.
