          Yeah. He seems nice.

But a victory for our neighbours, who were pleased we had apprehended the miscreants. Also, a quick response from the thin blue line when called.
Too bad the thieves didn't steal your unnecessary u's.

Also, don't your cops wear bright green fluorescent?

          • Their cops wear ****ing glow vests and don't even carry guns. I don't think I could take a cop without a gun seriously.

Most police interactions with the public don't require firearms. They present an unnecessary danger to everyone involved.

                  UK cops

We should strive to be more like them.

By and large the criminals there don't either. I assume the cops aren't afraid to beat the **** out of you with billy clubs though.

I'm used to getting hit with pucks and hockey sticks. A billy club would tickle. Plus, first thing I'd do is close the distance and throw the ****er on the ground.

This is a manly thread. I feel manly now. RAWR

On the other hand, you can feel so much more satisfaction exacting revenge on evildoers!
The idea of the Castle Doctrine is that self-defense is a human right and it extends to being safe within your home. That means, just by virtue of being a human being, you have the right to use whatever force is necessary to protect yourself and your home, loved ones, etc. You don't have to run away or hide and wait for a police officer to protect you, you can protect yourself. It's not necessarily motivated by revenge, but it does seem strongly correlated to an appreciation for fine pussy. Maybe that's why it confuses you.

You're more cretinous than usual. Almost interesting.

I repeat for the hard of reading and comprehension: we caught a burglar. No guns were needed. The police were called AFTER two unarmed non-law enforcement operatives apprehended a burglar.
