What a clown.
Russia is one of the most fighting nations in history of human kind. We always fight, 'cause we always under attack from one way or another.
Russians do have the mentality that they are always under attack though...that much is true. However, no one is attacking them or even wants to these days. The pressure the Russians feel now is the rest of the world attempting (once again!) to try and get the Russians to join the civilized world. Naturally, russians think this is an attack on them
Putin's thinking and Serbs thinking are prime examples of out of date thought. Perhaps one day Russia can join the family of nations...they are making progress. But that day will not come with Russia STILL invading its neighbors and trying to BS the world that they have justification for it.

Then you'll know what the idea of Ukraine in the EU and NATO looks like to many of them.

Russia
I would say a sizable number of Russians would like nothing better than to live in peace and prosperity with their neighbours. They would genuinely like better relations with the West and most everybody else. However they have a tendency to view the world suspiciously and telling them that the price of their admission to 'the family' is them accepting NATO (a recent rival and enemy) on the Dnienper River is likely to receive a FU response.

No, they're not stupid for learning from experience. If you want to understand them you might seek to understand why they view events the way they do, and what prompts their behaviour.(\__/)

They are not learning from experience if they're trying to relive the heyday of the Soviet Union, and they are delusional for thinking that the territory of Ukraine and Georgia is somehow theirs, and they are failing to understand the cause-effect relationship between trying to exert hegemony over their neighbors and their neighbors trying to join NATO.
Russia's foreign policy has always been to treat allies and neighbors like a wife: the more you beat her the more she'll love you. In this regard they have DEFINITELY not learned from experience.

Russia is like the French in the aftermath of WWI. "Oh poor us we got invaded, now we deserve to wreck our neighbor so we'll feel safer".

Exactly, and that sort of thinking will do them as much good as it did France.
Nobody wants to exterminate Russia anymore. There's no reason at all to view the west with so much hostility. It's a case of evil men stirring up hatred against foreign nations. Putin and his brood are monsters.John Brown did nothing wrong.

Don't forget the Daleks. They want to exterminate everyone.“It is no use trying to 'see through' first principles. If you see through everything, then everything is transparent. But a wholly transparent world is an invisible world. To 'see through' all things is the same as not to see.”
― C.S. Lewis, The Abolition of Man
