We should have dealt with the Russian problem then. I understand America was war weary and wanted the war to be over... but Patton was right. US should have kept going East and not stopped at Berlin.

Yes, I feel you pain that you have missed the opportunity to exterminate those Russkies once and for all.
But guess what? The Germany has declared war on USA, not vise versa.

You see. You just proved me right. I just feel your western pain you have failed to exterminate us. It's in your genes.Originally posted by Sava View PostWe should have dealt with the Russian problem then.
Boy, the Soviet Army would have wiped the floor with Yanks, Brits and remains of Wehrmacht combined in 1945 in Europe. That's why the operation Unthinkable was never carried out. You are living in a fantasy world created by Hollywood and FOX.I understand America was war weary and wanted the war to be over... but Patton was right. This is the stupidest thing you have ever said. You realize that the U.S. manufacturing was way beyond anything that you idiots had? You realize that you had just lost 35 million people and the U.S. had only lost 317,000? You realize that the army air corp was producing more planes every 6 months than you did in the entire war? You realize that the U.S. had atomic weapons and you guys wouldn't steal that technology for another few years?Originally posted by Serb View PostBoy, the Soviet Army would have wiped the floor with Yanks, Brits and remains of Wehrmacht combined in 1945 in Europe. You are an absolute idiot who knows nothing but Putinspeak."I am sick and tired of people who say that if you debate and you disagree with this administration somehow you're not patriotic. We should stand up and say we are Americans and we have a right to debate and disagree with any administration." - Hillary Clinton, 2003

My genes? How can anything doing to do with America be in my genes? America has only been around for about 240 years... and my family has only been here for 55 years.Originally posted by Serb View PostIt's in your genes.
I share more genes with you than with most Americans.
That probably explains why I'm such an asswipe. To us, it is the BEAST.

Nah. Russia just had a lot of obsolete tanks. We didn't want to waste the ammo blowing all of them up.Originally posted by Serb View PostAnd the Soviet had such an overwhelming advantage in conventional forces in Europe you had no balls to pull the trigger for four years while you had a monopoly on nukes. To us, it is the BEAST.

No of course you didn't. Could you think of any American backed regimes in the Caribbean or Central or South America that were shining examples of democracy ?Originally posted by Al B. Sure! View PostHow about you tell me what Soviet satellite wasn't oppressive? Your list is completely irrelevant because I never said no American puppets were oppressive.
Is this the same South Korea which massacred civilians in Kwangju for daring to protest at martial law ?South Korea.
But the 10 days in May 1980 were a pivotal time, and had a profound effect on the whole population as the democracy movement took hold all over South Korea.
Want to tell me the difference between martial law and democracy ?

We are talking about 1945 here, not about 1941 (when you had no tanks at all, btw). In 1945 you have nothing close to IS-3.Originally posted by Sava View PostNah. Russia just had a lot of obsolete tanks. We didn't want to waste the ammo blowing all of them up.
Anyone who seriously thinks America was ahead of USSR in tank designs, production and combat experience is just a plain lunatic.
Your tanks were pure refined pieces of crap throughout the entire WW2.

Oh so it's just accidental that America overthrew functioning elected democracies in Iran and Guatemala then ? And then backed a genocidal regime in Guatemala and the entirely unlovely Shah of Iran and his Savak secret police ?Originally posted by Al B. Sure! Nothing to do with American oil interests or United Fruit of course.Vive la liberte. Noor Inayat Khan, Dachau.
