No, my point was you are generally vaccinated once with a few requiring boosters many years apart. Or in other words NOT routine.

To which you replied small pod is wiped out and no longer vaccinated against concerning my example (your objection being irrelevant to the point), to which I pointed our you are incorrect as millions of people in my country are and continue to be vaccinated. I was less than a decade ago.

Millions of people are vaccinated in the U.S.A. against smallpox ? The CDC says not.

      • It's a requirement for military personnel who are deployable overseas, as well as recommended for government personnel traveling to certain areas. Your googlefu is weak.

        • Goddamn it, will someone please define what the **** "ROUTINE" means in this context?

          • Do conservatives want to pay for it?
            1. Yes
            2. No

If 2 then it is "routine".

It's a shame, too, since his entire schtick is to bombard the half dozen posters he especially despises with lame insults and obscure historical arcana whether he agrees with them or not. Maybe if his googlefu were better his posts would occasionally be relevant and/or interesting.

I wouldn't call our troops "deplorable".

Something which is regular and habitual. You know, the same meaning routine has in EVERY OTHER CONTEXT.

Buying allergy medicine is a routine expense. Buying milk is a routine expense. Getting new tires is a routine expense. Paying rent or mortgage is a routine expense. Buying contraceptive pills, every goddamn month, is a routine expense.

Insurance is for things that aren't routine.

Your house burns down, or your water heater explodes, homeowner's insurance will cover you. You need new paint or new carpeting? That's routine, pay for it yourself.

A tree falls and crushes your car, insurance has your back. You need an oil change? Pay for that yourself.

You break your collarbone and need to go to the hospital, insurance is meant to cover that. You scrape your knee and need to wash it and put a band-aid? Pay for it yourself.

You're a native English speaker, Guy. Don't waste my time feigning bull**** ignorance.

If we are going to have big government it's important that the government treat people fairly. Go on with you irrelevant argument about what insurance is though.

Quoting for massive emphasis. There is absolutely no benefit to forcing insurance companies to cover routine expenses. The cost just gets pushed onto the consumer anyway. Insurance is for mitigating risk. Routine things do not have any significant risk associated with them. There's no risk to mitigate. Having insurance companies pay for it is completely pointless. It just raises the price of insurance. The best case is that it doesn't do anything, and the worst case is that it puts insurance out of reach of people who could otherwise afford it. The most charitable thing that can be said about people who think insurance should cover routine expenses is that they are ignorant morons. The only other possibility is that they actually want poor people to have less access to insurance.

All prescription medications that you take everyday (regularly and habitually) are "routine" so I guess they're not eligible for coverage...
