It's a government regulation that transfers wealth according to gender. Technically not a subsidy. So what? I guess you have no problem with govt regs that transfer wealth according to gender, but it's my money so get your ****ing hands off of it.

Are you mad because wealth is getting transferred from people who need less money for healthcare to people who need more?

Well that does seem to be a perversion of the way insurance should work.

I'm also saddened to report Fluke isn't intending to slut-walk to victory in Waxman's old district. She's still planing on running for the California Legislature though. I hope she wins for my own amusement if nothing else.

Actually that's exactly how health insurance should work.

Should bad drivers receive car insurance at a lower rate than good drivers?

You seem to be confusing "health" with "car" there. Health is the one that doesn't have a wheel on each corner.

Not really. Why shouldn't people most likely to consume the services being covered be charged more?

Then again, blind insistence that health insurance must be exactly like car insurance could be funny. Like having to get an underwriting reference from your doctor because you changed the seats for Recaros.

Like we should tax Texans more because, being a border state, they use the border defence provided by the US armed forces more?

You're confusing a single payer system (which the US doesn't have) with whatever one might call the current system in the US.

More importantly he's confusing marginal cost with average cost.

Coverage of routine costs like contraceptives under insurance is blatantly ridiculous. However, the idea that health insurance should mitigate the prenatal luck of the draw is not (for the same reason that I am in favor of a certain degree of social insurance in the form of the welfare state).

How is healthcare different from other goods and services?

                            Spoiler:
                            it isn't

Give me a break. Some women are quite wealthy. Some are beautiful and can get men to pay for as much ss they want or need. As I said, this isn't providing for those who are unable to do it themselves. This is a money grab.
