I guess now I'm beginning to understand why gays are unhappy that homosexuality is no longer a crime in Russia. They just miss their old good Soviet punishment.

      Lord to its servant:

      - What is the noise out there, Barrymore?
      - It's a gay parade, Sir.
      - And what do they want?
      - They want same-sex love, Sir.
      - Hmmm, does someone forbids them to have that same-sex love?
      - No, Sir!
      - Then why on Earth do they parade?
      - They are ******s, Sir!
      - Oh, I see.

        OH LOL!!!!

Under Stalin population of USSR been GROWING 1 million per year all the years except the WW2 years. That simple statistical fact alone destroys western myths about Stalin tyranny.

Edited: Well, I admit I was wrong. My memory served me bad. Under Stalin Soviet population increased by 2 millions a year, not one million.

The Soviet industrial growth in 1930's is just unprecedented.

if by "built up industry" you mean "got free tanks from Uncle Sam", you're spot on

Not to mention, plenty of countries industrialized in ten years without killing tens of millions of their own people to famines...

This American rubbish doesn't worth a reply, really. You can't change a brainwashed western mind full of myths and stupid propaganda nor in decade or century.

              The opening ceremony's started.

Given the rather large German contribution to the Romanov bloodline (if you can call it that, since Catherine's first lover Saltykov wasn't a Romanov), I'm not sure Russia's in a position to snark about other countries' royal gene pools.

On a different note the insistence by Russian authorities that every hotel room contain a topless picture of a semi-nude Vladimir Putin seems rather odd. I know the guy desperately wants to be a dictator with a cult of personality but can't he at least put a shirt on?

And don't even get me started about the badly translated menus. "cake in ass", "ice cream in the ass", and "lemonade in the ass"?

FYI, if you make fun of Pootie Poot, you can expect to find a giant dick chained to your car. (Only a link instead of a picture due to the fact that its a pic of a 200 pound penis chained to a Beamer.) When you speak out against Putin then he sicks his "Putin Youth" to attacking you in the streets and the cops won't do anything to stop it.

Germans were ok. What destroyed Romanovs were Brits and their "Grandma Victoria" with her precious gift of hemophilia.

Nicolas II and George V were twins. Well, cousins actually.

Anyhow, that was not my point. My point was that France is a bad example of non-retarded country.

Serb, would you care to explain why the Russian people believe the 5th ring in the Olympic logo to be gay propaganda and thus subject to censorship?

The menus are hilarious. They wanted to write "a selection of X", which is literally written as "X in assortment" in Russian and is shortened to "X in ass." in every menu. Google Translate failed to understand what ass was.

Have you seen "language in the test" as well?

Are you saying it wasn't due to Russian incompetence but rather evidence of the gay agenda?
