A lot of Republicans are not racist, but a lot of racists are Republican.

No, seriously, why is it that not enough conservatives care that 300,000 people have their water supply poisoned by a corporation, when the reaction would have been much different had the poisoning been done by some other entity?

What is it about corporations that they can violate laws with impunity with little or no consequences?

          1. No one died.
          2. It was an accident, not a deliberate attempt to harm Americans.
          3. The corporation responsible will probably get sued or fined by the government.
          4. Most Americans cared a lot more about 9/11 than they care about this. It's not just conservatives.
          5. We don't react differently when a foreign corporation screws up. I didn't hear any calls to invade Britain after BP spilled a bunch of oil in the Gulf of Mexico.

That chemical plant was last inspected in 1991. How much of this accident was a result of negligence?

Comparing a negligent corporation to Al Qaeda is still absurd even if you think they are very negligent.

Technical point. BP is effectively half American.

Please provide an example of a conservative of note expressing any of the things you describe above concerning this event.

The real question is why people of your persuasion see Illuminatiesque antics in everything.

                        6. It was in West Virginia.

I would say it was all negligence. Somebody in government also (ALSO) dropped the ball here, since most counties and all states have their own environmental departments that should have picked up the EPA's slack.

It is a storage facility, which puts it pretty low on everyone's totem pole, since little activity is expected there, and these things usually happen when product is actively being moved. The cracked retantion wall should have been picked up on and repaired long ago, but they weren't getting looked at and slacked off.
No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.

I agree, a corporation failing to follow code is the government's fault. Just like student's cheating on tests is the teacher's fault. And abortions are God's fault.

Yeah, conservatives are all about personal responsibility.
