Well, if you're going to do a "study" about McDonald's, it is probably best you formulate a meal plan that reflects the majority of meals that McDonalds serves.

OOOH LOOK AT ME, I ATE TWO KETCHUP PACKETS PER DAY AND AM NOT FAT

LUURRRLLLLLLLLL OLLLOLOLOLOLO FAT PEOPLE CHOOSE TO BE FAT AND WE SHOULD SHAME THEMMM

There. I said it for you. Feel better?

This bull**** is just an excuse to legitimize abusive treatment and attitudes towards people who are overweight.

Of course fat people choose to be fat. No one spends their life locked inside a McDonald's that has run out of salads.

What do fat people experience that qualifies as "abusive" treatment? If insulting someone and not wanting to have sex with them is abusive, you abuse people all the time on Apolyton.

        Prove choice exists.

Indeed. But mostly for being stupid... or believing in stupid things.

And I don't try to justify it, ever, by saying such people deserve such treatment because they choose to be that way. Even if choice was proven to exist, it is irrelevant.

It's possible choice doesn't exist, but that would mean raping children and murdering them isn't a choice either. Do you want to start being nice to Ben?

I've already said choice is irrelevant... even if it is proven to exist.

I think that hating someone for something they can't control, like the color of their skin, is worse than hating someone for choosing to eat too much. Also, pretending that fat people don't chose to be fat is counterproductive if you think obesity is a problem that needs to be addressed because it discourages people from taking responsibility.

Responsibility is an meaningless concept. Any solution to any problem is going to take the idiotic notions of "choice" and "responsibility" out of the equation.

Responsibility is just a thing people believe in so they can feel justified in directing abusive behavior towards people.

You seem overly concerned with hating people, why people should be hated, and who it's okay to hate. Why don't you try empathy for a change, *******.

Because hate and punishment deter people from doing bad things like raping children that are a lot worse than hate itself.

But only a pedantic idiot would try to pull this off as a scientific experiment.
Interesting how Sava is opposed to scientific inquiry.

What I mean by that is, take a look at any one of their value meal choices... the sandwich + fries + soda. I don't suspect there is a single one that comes to below 1500 calories... for a single meal.

So if you are actually eating McDonalds for 3 meals a day, you are going to end up with well over 3,000 calories... at best.

That diet would be fun if you are working out like a mad man and trying to put on weight.

But only a pedantic idiot would try to pull this off as a scientific experiment.

Sure, I could order 3 side salads per day and end up looking emaciated in 90 days. But that's not really eating McDonalds. Any test or study involving eating McDonalds needs to involve combos from their menu... at minimum.

Furthermore, saying it's all about "choice" is completely idiotic. Choice is an unprovable concept. Anyone who ever concludes something is about human "choice" is basically stating that they have no facts and are wrong.

Prove choice exists first. Then get back to me.

I choose to never order combos.

I don't like pop and don't eat fries unless my life depends on it.

They are... but it is better, IMO, to abstain from sides for a decent portion size. Well, unless you are just ordering a cheeseburger or something.

Yeah I typically just order a sandwich, unless I'm really jonesing for fries. I never order soda.
No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.

They may taste fine, but they're not good food?

I use McD's once in a while when I'm on the road. I order the sandwich or wrap that I want and that's it.

People who pay attention to nutrition, but don't always have time to cook at home shouldn't be that atypical.

Also, I tend not to 'get' the whole "typical McD's experience" arguments. I mean do people think that folks who go to Burger King or Wendy's are more health conscious? As if McD's is the one that results in bad behaviors while the other fast food places are ok. I realize that people on this thread haven't made that argument, but I hear all the time how Wendy's is so much better than McD's.
