For those who aspire to live in a high cost, high tax, big government place, our nation and the world offers plenty of options. Vermont, Canada and Venezuela all offer you the opportunity to live in the socialist, big government paradise you long for. –Senator Rubio

51% of global spending got 45% of global spending in 1 area (biomedical research) = Losing Global Dominance In Science
My god Kentonio. Hyperbole much? Misery loves company I guess. I've talked to a few Brits who lament the loss of their empire. I guess Ken can't wait to see the same thing happen to the US. Never mind that the US never had an empire........“It is no use trying to 'see through' first principles. If you see through everything, then everything is transparent. But a wholly transparent world is an invisible world. To 'see through' all things is the same as not to see.â€

They could help do something to reverse the tide of course by say supporting science and education spending, but it's so much easier to just laugh at the funny foreigners while believing you will always be the global powerhouse. It's almost like another country might have made similar mistakes once upon a time..

If you're not going to be the sole world superpower you need to start talking to other countries as peers rather than inferiors.I drank beer. I like beer. I still like beer. ... I'll grant you there are differences between a formal imperialist empire such as the one the British ruled in the 19th Century and the 'informal' model the United States espoused after the Spanish American War.Vive la liberte. Noor Inayat Khan, Dachau.
