Bobby Jindal will run for president
    By: Burgess Everett
    December 22, 2013 04:36 PM EST

It is “very obvious” that Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal will run for president in 2016, according to Sen. David Vitter.

Vitter said Jindal (R) is indeed already laying the groundwork in pursuit of the 2016 GOP nomination, but wouldn’t say whether he will support his home-state governor in what is certain to be a brutal Republican primary season.

“I like Bobby, I respect his leadership, I agree with all of his political values. But I haven’t thought about what I would do or wouldn’t do personally,” Vitter (R-La.) said on C-SPAN’s “Newsmakers” on Sunday. “I do think he’ll run. I think he’s been running. And I think he’ll be a meaningful and significant candidate.”

Asked if Vitter believes Jindal would to be president, the senator replied: “Oh yeah. I think that’s very obvious to everybody who has been paying attention.”

Vitter is currently considering whether he will run to succeed Jindal in occupying the governor’s mansion in Baton Rouge in 2015. Jindal is term-limited and cannot run for a third term.

“I would expect we will come to a conclusion sometime in January,” Vitter said, adding that the decision comes down to “where I think I could make the most positive difference for the remainder of my political life.

“Because whether I stay in the Senate or if I were to run for governor, that will be my last political job.”
“As a lifelong member of the Columbia Business School community, I adhere to the principles of truth, integrity, and respect. I will not lie, cheat, steal, or tolerate those who do.”

He's probably correct that he'll run. It doesn't mean he'll win the nomination though. It's more likely that a governor will win though over anyone currently in Congress.

For those who aspire to live in a high cost, high tax, big government place, our nation and the world offers plenty of options. Vermont, Canada and Venezuela all offer you the opportunity to live in the socialist, big government paradise you long for. –Senator Rubio

I think he's been around since 2007 or so...? I think his predecessor got voted out of office in the aftermath of Katrina.

He seems that way though his politics are can be pretty far out there wrt religion especially trying to get the state to endorse evangelical Christianity. One of his first moves was to give state funding to religious schools. He said he only intended for Christian religious schools to get state funding because he protested and acted shocked when Muslims also sued and demanded state funding for their religious schools as well. In short, he's either not very bright or a liar because it was perfectly obvious to everyone with half a brain that other religions would also demand funding as well.
