I think you're massively underestimating the reach of this show. It is not aimed at yokels or duck hunters at all. It is aimed squarely at urban/suburban males between 20 and 45, just like GQ.

I'm an urban/suburban male in that age range. I neither read GQ nor heard of Duck Dynasty before this interview. That is to say I'm not underestimating anything. I have no idea what either target audience is. They didn't sound like they overlapped.
