I think if Satan were alive and in the flesh, he would hate Nelson Mandela.
To us, it is the BEAST.

Mandela was maybe more left wing than would have been optimal. But he was about 1% as left wing as anyone would have expected him to be given how much the ANC was in bed with communists. So it's pretty retarded to complain about him.

As I've said time and time again Ben, whatever he did or did not do, he changed in prison. Christianity is about redemption, and he certainly did go the redeption way. Christianity is about turning the other cheek and doing well towards your enemy, and he certainly did that too.

At some point you should ask yourself why communism received the support from the public that it did in quite so many countries.

If Breivik were released and ran for president of Norway, and were married to a woman who was implicated in the execution of leftist immigration supporters would you vote for him?

Probably because the soviet union was bankrolling them? It's not really a giant mystery. Communists were almost never a majority anywhere they took power before they took power, not even in Russia, they were just the most violent and organized.

Can been at least admit that military and government targets are legitament military targets in a civil war and that there is a difference between attacking those and attacking civilians targets? That's the difference between terrorism and legitament military resistance.

Are you willing to regard clinics as acceptable targets?

Don't be silly please. Communism had support all over the world, but especially in places where the poor felt their labour was being exploited by the rich. When people feel like they are being exploited they WILL look for new systems that give them a fair chance in life. You'd do well to remember that.

I don't know what opinion Ben has of Newt Gingrich who is a born-again Catholic, but Gingrich pretty much calls Ben an idiot:

Some of the people who are most opposed to oppression from Washington attack Mandela when he was opposed to oppression in his own country.
After years of preaching non-violence, using the political system, making his case as a defendant in court, Mandela resorted to violence against a government that was ruthless and violent in its suppression of free speech.

As Americans we celebrate the farmers at Lexington and Concord who used force to oppose British tyranny. We praise George Washington for spending eight years in the field fighting the British Army’s dictatorial assault on our freedom.

Patrick Henry said, “Give me liberty or give me death.”

Thomas Jefferson wrote and the Continental Congress adopted that “all men are created equal, and they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, among which are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.”

Doesn’t this apply to Nelson Mandela and his people?

Some conservatives say, ah, but he was a communist.

Actually Mandela was raised in a Methodist school, was a devout Christian, turned to communism in desperation only after South Africa was taken over by an extraordinarily racist government determined to eliminate all rights for blacks.

I would ask of his critics: where were some of these conservatives as allies against tyranny? Where were the masses of conservatives opposing Apartheid? In a desperate struggle against an overpowering government, you accept the allies you have just as Washington was grateful for a French monarchy helping him defeat the British.

Noot? You mean the man who divorced wife number 1 when she was sick to marry his mistress? Then divorced that mistress to marry another one when he got tired of the first one?

I'm not exactly sure what moral authority he has to speak about anything.

Has his first marriage been annulled? He's not even eligible to take communion.
