Mrs Horse went on the warpath about other stuff, even claiming we might have to sell the house for various quite minor housekeeping infractions, but it seems those blonde hairs were at the base of it.

If he could have seen his Mum's face when she told me he wanted her to stay over - the vulnerability, the realisation she really has to share her boys with other women. I won't forget that.

Sounds like your wife needs a little reality check, to be honest. It's not news that young boys meet young girls. My mother never reacted anything like that when my brother began fooling around.

I have to give my mother real credit with three sons bringing girls home. ALL of us were smart enough never to suggest that we be allowed to sleep in the same bed under their roof until we were married.

But over the years we did bring home some skanks (real obvious ones in some cases). My mother never blinked and treated them all like princesses and never said a bad word about them (and some of them really deserved it). I have to assume that it was a strategic decision and not a case of just being clueless. In the long term, it worked for her. My wife, and all my sister-in-laws get along great with my mother.

I met my girlfriend's parents last weekend. Nothing unusual to report at this time.

Guessing father related gun threats would be ineffective against a marine.

Congrats on your relationship making it to the next stage.

              Keep it up.

ah yes but wife to husband is different to mother to son - her confusion and alarm was fleeting and only shared with me, it was a look on her face, not something she said

The GF may be coming over again this evening, I must get in some popcorn

Is it too early for the "How do you feel about older men" conversation?

I have nothing to add so here is a video of a kitten who refuses to leave his nice warm bath. When they take him out of the bath he just turns around and gets back in it.

that's pretty much dating I guess

GF is back, she likes to travel and is working in a travel agency before going to uni next year - I see a trip to Europe in his future if he plays his cards right

They should take an Interrail trip. Almost all of Europe by train for a very affordable price. Can buy different packs. For example the one I took a few years back: 10 travel days within 22 days. Cost 265 euro (360 USD). There is a cheaper package too, and some more expensive. Check it out: http://www.interrail.eu/interrail-passes

I traveled Sweden-Denmark-Germany-Hungary-Serbia-Croatia-Italy-Switzerland-France-Belgium-Germany-Denmark-Sweden and then back to mother Norway.

They had some white wine before they went out and asked me to sample. Two bottles later they went out for kebabs and I fell asleep (passed out?) on the sofa. Mrs Horse and I are walking everywhere for our health so I'm bone tired some days.

Son has a job at liquor store attached to a supermarket. This almost the ideal job for a uni student - the boss gives him damaged stock - we sampled German beers the other night - and he gets fresh food like bread at wild discounts or for free, like the pastries they are throwing out overnight. Good deal, my holiday is made
