My point is the vast majority of patients that I see could not afford to see a doctor if they didn't have Medicaid. Period. Not for preventative care, not for acute care. Not for vaccines, not for their asthma or bronchiolitis or acute otitis media or gastroenteritis or growth failure or for any reason.

I didn't get sick and didn't go to a doctor for 30 years. One heart attack and the bills made paying for insurance all those years worth it.
Something is going to happen to you. You can argue about it among yourselves, but that's fact. Heart, cancer or MrFun talking you into a coma. It will happen.

I'm sorry, where did I say we shouldn't have medicaid? I never suggested medicaid should only cover catastrophic care, that doesn't even make sense. I have only ever been talking about the private insurance market.

Oh yeah, also, that the majority of your patients are medicaid patients is not even remotely obvious solely from the knowledge that you are a pediatrician in Columbus.
