Very true. Some where there was some wackadoodle prepper nut from Argentina who had a blog about their economic collapse after their government defaulted and he was saying the rural survivalists were the first ones to get rolled. You have to sleep some time and the thieves know you're in BFE and far from police help (even if the police felt like going way out there which they didn't) so those guys who pretended to be lone wolves didn't last long. They got kidnapped or robbed and in short order ended up back in the city because it was too unsafe in the countryside. The exception is if you have your own extended clan or village network as a support base but American preppers never want to do that because they have delusions of other people stealing their stores.

Honestly, I think many preppers really, really want there to be a depression because other wise they're just fools who spent all of their retirement savings on food which will go bad long before it ever gets used. Thus you see tea bagger nutjobs deliberately TRYING to crash the economy just so they can feel vindicated. They're still irresponsible nutjobs any way you slice it though.

Let's face it together Oerdin, BOTH parties are irresponsible.
There is your son was irresponsible and throw a party while you and your wife are away (that would be the Democrats level of irresponsibility) and then there is the nutjob who tries to light the whole neighborhood on fire and shoots up cars because he's mad (that would the GOP's level of irresponsibility). I don't like either but I'll take the former over the later any day of the week.

Why? Several neighborhoods and towns did extremely well doing that during Katrina.

Google Argentina Collapse and prepping. The guy now moved to Texas and is a wackadoodle just like you. He's the one saying from his real life experience that is what happened in Argentina. Yes, I know its not what you envision in your fantasies when you're playing army man with the other fat, out of shape prepper pals but that's how it works in the real world, son.

would that be votes from liberals who oppose using government to punish people for saying things they dont like?

demanding "action" from government officials suppresses free speech

apparently you define free speech to mean state approved speech, when liberals are running the state of course... If the Tea Party was in control and they were blocking businesses owned by outspoken liberals you'd be singing a different tune
