One thing about berzerkers:
I encountered them the first time on my first attempt at the Alien Base. I entered a room, and there they were, three of them, charging at me. Not knowing what the were or how they'd attack, I just figured they were some weird muton that didn't use cover, so I calmly concentrated fire on the first one. It didn't die, and by the time its turn rolled around, it had its choice of operatives to slaughter, while his buddies cleaned up the other two (I had already suffered cyberdisk-related losses).
Long story short, it went poorly."My nation is the world, and my religion is to do good." --Thomas Paine

It was a helluva one-trick the first time I saw them. Even since, it's a goddamned relief when they turn up."My nation is the world, and my religion is to do good." --Thomas Paine

The assault perk that gives them a reaction shot aganst enemies that move in close is nice vs berzerkers. (also, the sky is blue)
Especially since you can relocate snipers and shoot them with a pistol, and still dish out decent damage. You can even ping-pong them for some more free shots if needed.Indifference is Bliss

There's a bunch of stuff I've added to the OP now which you should totally watch by the way here is the Security Breach trailer from yesterday which is cool and apparently EXALT (the new human baddies) invades your base and it's gonna be good!
Exalt gameplay video also added to the OP, looks frickin' sweet. AI seems to have gotten a huge huge huge buff, though that's partly because whoever's playing has no clue what he's doing.

His fault for 1. activating ****loads of pods, 2. not being smart enough to know how to eliminate them. And defeat was certain well before it actually happened. He could have saved 3 or 4 of his men by withdrawing after things went sideways. But yes, then again, numbers are a key aspect of the Exalt strategy. It's interesting to see how they play differently.

I just finally got the Lone Wolf achievement. This is for clearing a UFO Crash Site with one (1) soldier, and only one (1) soldier, on classic or impossible difficulty. The key is mind control. It is crucial. Ghost armor is also extremely useful but I don't know if it's necessary.
The small scout UFOs in the late game typically carry 5 Muton Elites and 1 Ethereal, in two roving packs of two Muton Elites and one pack of one Ethereal and one Muton Elite in the UFO itself. This means that if you encounter a pack and mind control one of the aliens in it, you will outnumber the enemy locally 2-1. Moreover, ghost armor's invisibility is not broken when using psi attacks, only when shooting guns or throwing grenades. That means if you ghost up to a pack, then mind control one of the Muton Elites, the other alien will shoot the Muton and not your character. Those things have a ton of health and will almost certainly survive to the next turn. If mind control fails, you are ghosted and won't be shot at.

This expansion is worth it to see central officer bradford (braddock?) getting hit with a fire extinguisher
I sincerely hope Dr. Chen/Shen/Shen/Chang either dies or has a heart attack on the spot as soon as you get a Mech/bionic trooper. He nearly lost an aorta when you picked up the alien guns to use against them. What a stooge.
