Helpful hint: If you believe that the success of your "plan" depends on everyone in the world agreeing with you and responding how you want, and no one opposing you, then you are a totalitarian at heart, and your "plan" isn't a plan at all, but a disaster in the making.

      • HHS extends deadline for individuals to enroll in Obamacare for January coverage

HHS to delay 2015 Obamacare enrollment by a month

I think we have twin admissions here. 1) The website isn't getting fixed anytime soon and 2) the admin expects premiums to rise next year and wants to avoid that playing a roll in the midterms if possible.

The British took Boston? Screw this, we don't need independence.
We lost at Bull Run? Go ahead and secede for all I care.
The Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor? I GIVE UP. Here, take the Philippines.
The website is broken? **** healthcare.

It's the only thing people are complaining about... well, real people. Not wingnuts.

Not strictly true, Sava. Some people are upset about possibly losing their existing coverage.

Some. But they mostly have crap plans. And it's a low percentage of people.

In time, that will get ironed out as well.

Time is on Obama's side. By next year, he'll only have himself to blame if Republicans get any traction on this. Most likely, the website gets fixed. People get put on plans. The issues will be minor.

But you'll have GOP idiots still yelling bloody murder and everyone will be like "lol wat" and ignore them.

The same GOP, mind you, that thinks people should go to the ER if they want medical care.

So even if the system still is struggling, I don't see how they will possibly benefit. Everyone who is hating on Obama will still hate him. It doesn't matter if we get some sort of miracle program that works wonders. Republicans still won't like it because they want to punish people... for existing.

                  • While what you say is true, it is the GOP that is driving the narrative on this (thanks in no small part due to the complete incompetence of the website), and the drivers of the narrative are the ones who win the debate.

The website will get fixed, people will get their plans... but will anyone still care? If the entire thing has already been painted as a failure, it will be very, very hard to dislodge that narrative from the mind of the average American.

                    • Narrative shmarrative. Nobody cares. That's the point. Only asshats like us who like arguing about politics are paying attention now. 9 out of 10 people probably think Ted Cruz is Tom Cruise's retarded little brother.

                      • The website has no hope of being fixed within the next 6 months, on the inside. It has zero hope of ever being fully functional or easy to use. If it did, AKO wouldn't suck so ****ing hard.

                        • Do people know who Ted Cruz is? Probably not.

Do people have an opinion on the ACA? Yes. Is it a particularly informed opinion? Probably not. Does that matter? Nope.
