The election coverage has been unbelievably slanted.
Since Murdoch controls 75% of the print media, including the popular tabloids and the only newspaper in at least three states, it's a wonder Labor is still in the race at all.
Some examples
from Sydney, "Kick this mob out" was the front page on the first day of the campaign
Another front page linked PM Rudd to Colonel Klink, and a disgraced MP
from Melbourne, the latest effort places PM Rudd with Hitler photos, and cunningly asks its readers what they think
In the battleground state of Queensland where Murdoch's Courier Mail is the only daily, "send in the clown" was the headline when a former QLD Labor Premier announced he was running
I can't remember such a Murdoch hatchet job for quite some time. Labor tried to introduce Leveson Inquiry style reforms to the media. Murdoch's dark empire's response has been vicious. Or maybe the old devil just needs to feel powerful again after the kicking he got in the UK and the US elections, who can say?
