I have to think this is true. I've read some horror stories about people pissing in an alley way but the DA wants to put them on the sex offender list because he had his pecker out. All for taking a piss down a back alley behind a dumpster with no one around other than, apparently, the cop lurking in the shadows. Those lists have gone way off the rails if even half of it's true.

Edit: Oh, and then there are those cases of where the boyfriend was 18 and the girlfriend was 16, she gets pregnant, they get married, but because her parents hate him they still press charges and he ends up on the sex offender list.

I saw a story on ArsTechnica like that. The age of consent in the state is 16. He's 18 I think. His girlfriend was 16. I guess they recorded some sexytime on his smartphone. He got arrested for something else. The cops went looking through his phone. I guess the federal law for child porn is anything under 16. So he got charged with that too and is now a sex offender.
