So, I did end up seeing Man of Steel. It was nothing like the Larry Niven short story. To be honest, I didn't find the fx particularly interesting, and for an action movie, it frequently moved at a glacial pace. Another miss for DC.

      Thank you.

Just watched this movie and I contend that the least realistic part was when they depicted ethnic minorities living in rural Iowa.

I actually quite liked the movie by the way. And I usually hate superhero movies.

Utah is the same way. I took my hispanic step children to Utah a few years ago and I told them they'd see few hispanic people and very few black people.

The first person in Utah they saw? A black guy riding a horse.

Probably something similar to what led me to put DaShi on ignore: incessant heckling.
No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.

Elok is a good guy, but sensitive. I'm a bad guy and insensitive.

TMM is just mad because I challenged his world view defined solely by conservative radio programs.

Ogie doesn't like me because I said something nice about Obama and something neutral about Paul Krugman. Grave sins!

Ditto. He got some sort of crush on me a while back, constantly saying "source?" or just passive aggressive snarky nonsense totally bereft of content.

HC, I only did that to you because you would post things as facts that were often incredulous. They frequently turned out to be wrong. But had to come from somewhere.

I'll admit, I began to overdue it, but most of the times, they were genuine attempts make you strengthen your arguments and not leave you with a reputation for knee-jerk conservatism.

I'll add that I've always been open to reasonable discourse. Few people want to take that option. I'm glad that Elok did.
