"This is nothing particularly new. This has been going on for seven years under the auspices of the (Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act) authority and every member of the United States Senate has been advised of this," said Sen. Saxby Chambliss, R-Ga., the top Republican on the intelligence panel. "To my knowledge we have not had any citizen who has registered a complaint relative to the gathering of this information, and it is simply what we call 'meta data.'"
If the entirety of your posts in this thread are going to be critical of me in the fullness of time concluding that a part of Republican orthodoxy was wrong, perhaps you could save yourself sometime by simply posting:
Bush
And be done with it.

For those who aspire to live in a high cost, high tax, big government place, our nation and the world offers plenty of options. Vermont, Canada and Venezuela all offer you the opportunity to live in the socialist, big government paradise you long for. –Senator Rubio
DD, the more interesting story is that Sava caught you out in a contradiction. I think that's clear to all of us.
Gonna hafta disagree here. I've never met DD, and probably never will. Don't give a damn how hypocritical he is, or otherwise. The OP is much the same as what came before, but it at least has the potential to have an effect on me.
The broad, unlimited nature of the records being handed over to the NSA is unusual. FISA court orders typically direct the production of records pertaining to a specific named target suspected of being an agent of a terrorist group or foreign state, or a finite set of individually named targets.
You are stupid.
The legislation was brought forward by the Bush admin. Obviously it would end like this - Democrat or Republican. Where were you?
EDIT: Sava did the work already. Impressive pwnage

The law this order was based on a) doesn't allow for a broad based dragnet and b) requires a slightly better reason why the government should get the records than #### you that's why at least if the WaPo story I quoted is credible.

Prior to this law, there had always been a protocol called getting a mandate.
That they wanted to get around it was evidence of what was about to happen.
You denied it back then; now that you're getting it in the ass, you're crying like a wimp. This is ****ing pathetic.

By coincidence, I have that opinion of most of the posts in this thread. Morons such as yourself and others would appear to rather discuss me as if I have any effect on your lives which while extremely gratifying to me and my ego ignores the real issues here which is the alleged over reach if the WaPo story is to be believed, the question of if such power should exist at all at least in the unlimited form the government is claiming, and if you want to engage in a partisan food fight the rank hypocrisy of the Obama Admin.

DD, we just like to talk **** about you because you're easily one of the most smug self satisfied hypocrites on the board. At least you dont have the cardinal sin of being repugnantly stupid like Ben.
