Since this whole discussion started with the Latin nomenclature, I'll just quote from my lesson plan.
Luna -> Lundi -> Moonday -> Monday
Mars -> Mardi -> Twi's day -> Tuesday
Mercury -> Mercredi -> Woden's Day -> Wednesday
Jupiter -> Jeudi -> Thor's day -> Thursday
Venus -> Vendredi -> Freya's day -> Friday
Saturn -> Samedi -> -> Saturday
Sun -> Dimanche -> -> Sunday
There are 7 heavenly bodies - Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, the Sun and the Moon that move around with the year and are visible with the naked eye.
There are 7 days of the week. This is not a coincidence. Each body has it's own day, but only 3 are obvious.

I have the equivalent of first year college level french. So, yes. I took the full IB program and one of the big parts of it is a foreign language.A backwater ****hole in British Columbia?
