God in his mercy has seen fit to permit us to act with free will. So no. Plenty of examples in the bible - including the Ezekiel reading from last night - "You have brought shame on my Holy Name, but I will bring you back to your land, out of concern for My Name", etc.

Read the Bible. Jesus knew Judas was going to betray Him. He said that he was a devil. What would be the purpose of washing his feet? If you wash a devil's sins away he's still a devil. That's silly. Obviously he washed their feet as a service. They needed their feet washed because their feet were dirty. It had nothing to do with their sin. That's something that your church made up. It's another silly interpretation of the Bible. Now it's no longer politically correct so your church is down playing it.

Most mennonites believe it is suppose to teach service and humility, that it doesn't sanctify. I don't know what kind of Mennonite you were, probably a strange kind.
