  • Five months on, Benghazi killers back to work and business as usual

To date, the Administration would not need much help 'hunting down' those responsible for the Benghazi attacks. Because they're operating openly as if nothing ever happened.
Is protecting American citizens an American priority any more?
"You say that it is your custom to burn widows. Very well. We also have a custom: when men burn a woman alive, we tie a rope around their necks and we hang them. Build your funeral pyre; beside it, my carpenters will build a gallows. You may follow your custom. And then we will follow ours."--General Sir Charles James Napier

Anyway, let's try to keep all this in perspective. As UN Ambassador Rice put it: "There’s always confusion when you have a tragedy of that sort,” she said. “The bigger tragedy is that we’ve spent all of these months trying to figure out the origin of some talking points, which were cleared at the highest levels of the intelligence community, and in my opinion not enough time doing the service that we owe to our fallen colleagues.”

To paraphrase Rice, the bigger tragedy is that people are asking why they were misled and those people are taking months! Months! To uncover why they were misled. And slothfulness is a such a terrible sin.

Let's reflect on the fact that these talking points were "cleared at the highest levels of the intelligence community" for a moment. Is this supposed to make anyone, anywhere, feel better?

Anyway, to quote Hillary Clinton: "honestly, at this point, what difference does it make"?

Truly this the Western world's brightest hour. What else could go wrong?

The Admin's response to this question can be best summarized by Hillary Clinton's What difference does it make? statement to Congress.

Obama is the worst leader to have power in the U.S. in my lifetime.

I keep wanting to find a way to support my President, but it is things like this that make it impossible.

Just days after President Barack Obama vowed to hunt down and bring to justice those responsible for the Sept. 11 attack on the U.S. diplomatic compound here, Ahmed Abu Khattala — one of those considered a ringleader — spent two leisurely hours Thursday evening at a luxury hotel full of journalists, relaxed in a red fez and sandals, sipping mango juice on a patio overlooking the Mediterranean and scoffing at the threats coming from both the American and Libyan governments.
        Seriously Mr. President?
"I am sick and tired of people who say that if you debate and you disagree with this administration somehow you're not patriotic. We should stand up and say we are Americans and we have a right to debate and disagree with any administration." - Hillary Clinton, 2003

Obama hasn't found time to issue a kill order for him yet in between skeet shooting and many rounds of golf.

Republican Polytoners criticizing a Democratic president. Unbelievable!

Where was the criticism from Republicans for Bush having failed to capture/kill Osama Bin Laden?

As a plan b if capture is impossible, yes. Plan A would be to capture people for intelligence value.

He was killed with ongoing intelligence from Bush's terms; and Obama didn't "do" anything.

Doesn't it suck that your president won't order extra-judicial killings on foreign land?

Bull****. He was killed 27 months into Obama's term, and your "ongoing intelligence" remark is off the ****ing wall - as if Obama was just going to stop all intel ops. They were continued, and stepped up. The rollup and tracking of OBL's courier was done on Obama's watch, as was the CIA op (in an "allied" country) to get DNA samples to confirm. POTUS (regardless of party) doesn't "do" anything in a Rambo sense, but this op was not some routine patrol ordered by an O3 in the 'stan. It was a high political risk decision to send over two dozen highly trained personnel deep into an "allied" country without their authorization, on a mission that could have failed in any number of ways. It was also a decision that could have been rationalized away from, and the public wouldn't have known one way or the other. Carter took a chance and lost in Iran, Reagan screwed the pooch on a large scale in Beirut, Clinton screwed the pooch on a smaller scale in Somalia. There were plenty of reasons to back away from making a decision, but Obama authorized the raid and was willing to accept the fallout of failure. And we got the mother****er.

Not yet, anyway. SIGINT is a wonderful thing.
