Thanks. It will be a few months before I'm close to what passes for normal.

Why not just eat raspberries with a strong cup of green tea? That's what I do now.

Not that specifically, but I take note of the trends and try to eat whatever they're trying to tout as a pill now, within reason -- that is, if my own reading agrees that it makes sense.

I have handfuls of dried berries in my oatmeal, and sometimes in my salmon and rice. I have cocoa powder and powdered cinnamon in my coffee, sweetened with honey. I drink a strong cup of matcha green tea. I use all kinds of spices, all the time. Red wine and dark beer in moderation.

Whole milk. Fresh free range eggs from a local farmer who's a friend. Low sodium V8 with lots of hot sauce, because I like it.

edit: I see forum is sticking adlinks in my post again. I haven't tried that particular brand of matcha. I would encouage anyone interested to read the matcha wiki if they're interested. I use it as a morning brew, sans ceremony, using a mini electric whisk to get the stuff into suspension. It's definately an acquired taste when used at the proper strength.

                    Wow, yeah, really.

You didn't mention it before, was it an emergency bypass?

Well, just don't do what my father did - get a nasty Staphylococcus infection It costed him almost a year of hospitalization and his breast bone - though still lived 15 more years.

At least the docs have fixed you while it's a bit annoying for me - I'm gnashing Nitro on an off but there are nothing to see that causes it
With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

Yes. I was at work at the dinner theatre Dec. 30 getting ready for a sold out evening, when I suddenly went from feeling a bit achy/tired to having a sudden chest pain. I described how I was feeling to a co-worker who had a stent put into his heart a couple of years ago, and he suggested I go to a hospital right away. I did, and was transfered to the main cardiac hospital in Winnipeg, underwent a 9 hour operation, and regained consciousness just before mid-night Dec 31 as the fireworks were starting across the river from my ICU.

I hope it works out for you. The next few months promise to be quite painful and frustrating, but better than the alternative.

You are. If our bodies weren't adapted, we wouldn't (talking about population as a whole, not talking about Crohn's disease or gluten intolerant individuals, etc.) have the digestive enzymes, etc., to eat them. We're not biologically specialized as carnivores, we're essentially omnivores. And nobody (human) eats a "grain based diet" moron, we eat grains as part of our diet. Factory farmed pigs and cattle eat a "grain based diet."

I eat 1-2 pounds of red meat almost daily. Even with no family history of heart disease and superb genetics, the medical establishment would say I should have high cholesterol levels considering the quantity of meat I consume.
Meat must be ****ing cheap in the USA if poor people like Al can afford to eat hunks of it every day.
