Semi-auto carbines of sufficiently short length seem to me like perfectly good options for self defense in the home.
And yeah Fast and Furious is sort of a non-scandal that nobody serious really cares about. But it's fun to troll people with every now and then, and I think Alby is just trying to mimic MrFun's retarded images from the other angle. That's what I was doing with the lightsaber thing.Comment

No semi-auto carbine made can be used to acquire a good sight picture as fast as a semi-auto pistol. That's why they still issue pistols as personal defense weapons for some MOS.
You also can't get a .223 in a good hollow-point or minimally penetrating load. Yes, they exist, but they suck from a practical standpoint - the combo of velicity and small mass can mean unreliable breakup on hitting any solid object before you hit the target. Nowhere near the stopping power of .45 ACP or .357 Sig. So... greater cost, less ballistic reliability, slower on target and less stopping power.
