Building 70m high levees around the cities in question is absurd on many levels.

The oceans aren't going to rise 70m. Do you have any idea how much ****ing water that is?

Roughly the amount of water if all the ice on earth melted.

You think Antarctica is going to see its temperature rise that much? The record high temperature at the South Pole is -12.3C.

I am not sure whether you just think humanity isn't capable of doing this, or if you hate homeless people.

I think there's a comfortable gap between keeping the homeless from freezing, and melting Antarctica.

                    Not via global warming.

It only takes 10C-15C increase in global average temps to get to the 70m increase in sea level. I will just point out that that would still be insufficient to allow homeless to not face the risk of hypothermia in some areas, and that you must hate the homeless to want to make them suffer so.

I, on the other hand, fully support giving the homeless free permits to collect trash to burn to keep warm. This will help to increase global warming (long term solution) and give immediate heat (short term stop-gap). It will also help to undermine organized crime and various unions. The unions are probably the reason people can't find jobs and end up homeless in the first place.

You may lick my philanthropically superior boots.

What possible debate? Life is tough for a lot of people.

One of the people who works for me inspired me to give to charity today. 1k usd in cash will go to a random poor kenyan family. I should make sure to do that once a quarter (at least). I've failed inexcusably on this front.

I think that burning all fossil fuels on earth wouldn't do that.

Whether that's true or not, burning fossil fuels isn't our only recourse. It's pretty clear that there are enough building blocks for greenhouse gasses on this earth to achieve the end if we strive hard enough.
