I decline all of those things. It's called self-employment. I have no idea what a paid vacation is. A weekend off? What's that?

      I'm confused.

      Is it 2002 again?

No, it's 1984. Although my body feels like it's 2034.

          Thanks!

I found this amusing. The unions apparently brought this on themselves with overreach: How right to work got on Gov. Snyder's radar: He blames Proposal 2

Hmmmm... exercising one's constitutional prerogative to participate in the political process is overreach? I guess every group that puts a ballot measure before voters should be subject to some form of arguably retaliatory legislation. They put the ballot measure up before the voters, the voters spoke. Should be end of story.

The story here is that Gov Rick (who is a moderate) had a deal with the unions not to put RTW on the table. They decided to try to amend the MI constitution via the ballot box with an amendment that would have made it impossible to ever pass RTW. If that amendment had passed, union law would have overridden state law.

The Gov told them that if they pursued this initiative, the deal was void. And he seems to have meant it and is listening to the will of the voters.

I think that it's overreach to say that somebody who just wants a job is going to have a chunk of their paycheck stolen to pay for political activities they might not support. If the unions are so wonderful, then they should have no trouble soliciting voluntary donations.
                    John Brown did nothing wrong.

Be a true conservative. They're not entitled to a job. If they don't want to pay union dues, then they can go get a different job. I hear WalMart is always hiring, and Lord knows, they've got great pay and benefits and nary a union due ever.

Same thing if they don't want to cut their hair or wear a company uniform. They can get a job where they don't have to do that. All the crocodile tear concern for the poor working man is truly touching.

But thanks for at least admitting that the real issue is about political activities by the unions, not about the poor working man's money.
