  • We are in the midst of the 148th anniversary of Sherman's march to the sea.

Broke the confederacy's back and preserved the Union.

    A true American Hero.

Sherman continues to influence US military doctrine, especially the preference for overwhelming firepower and the blunt concentration and ruthless use of force.

While Lee pranced around elegantly, Sherman gutted the confederacy. It wasn't pretty but it sure worked.

May be the last time we get to celebrate.

No one cares unless it's a nice round number year.

I think Grant winning the Siege of Vicksburg should get more credit for breaking the back of the CSA.

Regardless, southerners are still bitter about it.

Well he would be charged with war crimes today. It's the same reason few people are celebratory of the Doolittle Raiders or Second Lieutenant William L. Calley.

Ft. Pillow would count as a crime against humanity today.

No, slavery would count as a crime against humanity. If you were to pick one to charge Confederates with it'd be that. What's your point, MrFun?

                          OK, that does it.

I've given you every break, MrFun. But a preference for Pepsi Next pretty much defines you as a worthless douche.

Fortunately, I'm evolved enough to separate that issue from your sexuality. You'll have to take your comfort in that.
