So you're telling me that if God told you to kill someone you wouldn't do it?

If you want to take it as broadly as possible, it doesn't mention humans, either. So don't kill anything.
No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.

Saying God told me to has never been a successful legal defense for murder in America.

...and yet, we are not discussing murder in the opening post.

So what? Or are you saying America is God?

They were probably terrible people and clearly criminal scum but a break-in is not an offense that warrants a summary execution. Granted, she was in a difficult situation where she had no choice but let us approach this incident with the awareness that two people are dead and we should not praise their deaths. She did what she had to do but there should be no joy in it, either on her part or on ours.

Also remember, just last month, a retired cop shot and killed his son whom he mistoke for a burgler.
I'm not celebrating the death of the two psychopaths, but celebrating that a woman saved her own life and is alive.

What does that have to do with anything, the irony was two supposed christians cheerleading for vigilinte killing like ****ing hypocrites.

Actually it depends on which translation you use. Either way only a complete moron would try and equate christian belief with any kind of celebration over the deaths of other humans. Even if this guy was the biggest ***** in the world, a true christian would be sad that he had been led astray from god, and hope that he found repentence. I'm sick of hearing gun toting ****wits with zero empathy for humanity trying to claim a religion that despite its endless flaws is at least supposed to be based on compassion.

Summary: kentonio does not understand the difference between murder and killing in self defense.

You really don't get it do you, Christianity does not teach that if someone kills in self defence that that gives you a green light to start celebrating the killing. It's not about whether or not the woman was right to defend herself (I absolutely believe she was) but about the revolting high fiving over it by people who claim to follow a compassionate religion.

Correct. We are all children of God and we are all fallen and broken from the ideal. A Christian believes that all good comes from the grace of God (ie, even our good choices are due to the gifts that God has given us). So therefore, to celebrate that you are more good than someone else is trying to take for yourself that which God has gifted. Regardless of how fallen someone is, God can always reach them. God can always work through them. So it is regrettable when someone gets killed in an act of sinfulness (how many people find God in jail?). We are thankful that the woman isn't hurt, but we also mourn the lives that were taken before God could work within their lives.

FWIW, there were lot of interesting articles on a Christian response to the death of Osama bin Laden. I, myself, struggled with not celebrating the death of another person (because I knew it was wrong regardless of how evil he was).
“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
                                - John 13:34-35 (NRSV)
